Our core philosophy is Local-First Privacy. PDFScanner is designed to process your documents directly on your device. We do not upload, store, or view your scanned documents or images on any external servers.

2. Information We Collect and How We Use It To provide our core document scanning and PDF generation services, the App requires certain device permissions and processes specific types of data:

• Camera Data: The App requires access to your device's camera to scan physical documents. The image stream is processed locally on your device in real-time to detect document edges and capture the image.
• Storage and Photo Gallery: The App requires storage permissions to save your generated PDF files to your device and to allow you to import existing images from your gallery into the App.
• Document Content: All documents, images, and generated PDFs remain strictly on your local device. We do not transmit, collect, or store your personal documents on any external servers.

3. Third-Party Services and SDKs While we do not collect your personal data, the App utilizes secure third-party services to function and display advertisements. These services may collect certain device and usage data according to their own privacy policies:

• Google ML Kit: We use Google's ML Kit for on-device machine learning (edge detection and image cropping). While the image processing happens locally, Google may collect basic diagnostic and usage data to maintain the service.
• Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA), device information, and location data to serve personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's settings.
• Expo: The App is built using the Expo framework, which may collect anonymous crash logs and diagnostic data to help us improve app stability.

4. Data Retention and Deletion Because your documents and scans are stored locally on your device, you have complete control over your data.

• You can delete individual pages or clear your entire document library using the "Clear Document Library" feature within the App's Settings.
• Uninstalling the App will delete all internal App data. (Note: PDFs you have explicitly exported or saved to your device's general storage will remain until you delete them).

5. Security We prioritize the security of your information. By keeping all document processing entirely offline and on-device, we eliminate the risks associated with cloud storage and data transmission.

6. Children’s Privacy Our App does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take necessary actions.
